Good bloody grief. In Years gone by at least one hack paid the price for slagging off Guildford's men in black by being wrapped in tape and suspended above the stage at a [a]Stranglers[/a] show....

The Stranglers - Rattus Norvegicus: Wikipedia Album Entry
Rattus Norvegicus is the first album by The Stranglers, released in 1977. The band's name was printed as "The Stranglers IV" on the sleeve. The album was originally to be entitled "Dead on Arrival" but was changed at the last minute. It was one of the highest-selling albums of the punk era in Britain. Some websites incorrectly list the album as IV by a band called Rattus Norvegicus.
It was produced in one week by Martin Rushent, and was basically a snapshot of the band's live set at the time.
The original vinyl release included a free 7" single, containing "Peasant in the Big Shitty (live)" and "Choosie Susie". Two singles were taken from the album: "Grip", and "Peaches" (released as a double A-side with the non-album track "Go Buddy Go"), which gave the band their first major hit single. A remastered version of the album was reissued on CD in 2001, including these three additional tracks.
The album peaked at no.4 in the UK album chart, eventually spending 34 weeks on the chart.

The Stranglers - Rattus Norvegicus Lyrics
The Stranglers - Peaches Lyrics
Strolling along minding my own buisness
Well there goes a girl and a half
She's got me going up and down
She's got me going up and down
The Stranglers - Ugly Lyrics
I could have read
A poem called Ozymandias to her
Instead I lived for the moment
It was a futile gesture anyway
The Stranglers - Down In The Sewer Lyrics
Down in the sewer
Picking up quite a lot of empty coca cola cans
And there sure are a lot of them around here
The Stranglers - Goodbye Toulouse Lyrics
Your streets were paved with love
Your skies were blue
Goodbye Toulouse
The Stranglers - Hanging Around Lyrics
Big girl in the red dress
She's just trying to impress us
And she's got the barley fever
But she doesn't make a sound
The Stranglers - Sometimes Lyrics
Someday I'm gonna smack your face
Someday I'm gonna smack your face
Somebody's gonna call your bluff
Somebody's gonna treat you rough
The Stranglers - Princess Of The Streets Lyrics
She's gone and left me
I don't know why
That girl she's crazy
She made me cry
The Stranglers - (get A) Grip (on Yourself) Lyrics
Didn't have the money 'round to buy a Morry Thou
Been around and seen a lot to shake me anyhow
Begged and borrowed, sometimes I admit I even stole
The worse crime that I ever did was play some rock 'n' roll
