Held on January 29th at the Royal Albert Hall, it included a personal message from Frank Sinatra, who won two awards that year.

Coverage in the following week's paper was cut down due to a printing dispute (the issue was 8 pages long), still there was a lovely picture of actor Fernando Lamas presenting Dickie Valentine with his award.
