The Glory of Cremona: A Violin by Joseph Guarneri del Gesu named the "Ex-Vieuxtemps" made in 1739 and played by Ruggiero Ricci. One of Several fine del Gesu's owned by Henri François Joseph Vieuxtemps (February 17, 1820 June 6, 1881) a Belgian composer and violinist active in France. It was later owned by the English-Italian player Guido Papini, and after passing through the collections of the Duc de Camposelice and other well-known amateurs, it eventually came to this country and is now in the possession of Mr. Hugh W. Long.
