Originally from Dudley in the West Midlands, Brothers, Neil and Anthony Smith became natives of Carmarthen in the early eighties. Growing up listening to 70s rock/metal, their taste in music had a sound foundation. Neil started to play guitar at the age of 12 while at Q E Cambria secondary school and joined many local bands to put his foot on the musical ladder. Anthony started to play percussion at the age of 14 and joined "DUSK" a school Metallica wannabee band with his school friend Gareth Richards playing Bass. The band was a complete flop, Anthony got bored and joined a band with Neil, Gareth quickly followed. The 3 members of Gridlock have been together for 8 years playing all around the UK and have summed up quite a following with their hard edged rock mixed with their own unique sound. The band have recently been joined by another local Carmarthen guitar player, Jon Williams whos guitar playing has brought another dimension to their live performance.
