Track Description
Korova are everything you want and need in a band; Dark, edgy, angular, speed soaked, adrenaline fuelled, 10,000 miles per hour pop.
Korova are multiculturally formed from the ruins of Desolate East Lothian fishing towns and Edinburgh city centre bohemia.
Korova were born officially in March 2005 as a three piece (sans violin) before having our milk saucer licked dry in August 2005 by violinist KittyKorova. Korova are now a four piece.
Korova are 50% xx chromosome/ 50% xy chromosome
Korova consist of KiKiKorova - Vocals/Guitar
FiFiKorova - Vocals/Bass
KittyKorova - Vocals/Violin
GigiKorova - Drums/Percussion
Korova have received national airplay on the likes of XFM and Radio 1 - with a 98% landslide victory on the Session in Scotland's listener's poll - and international club and radio play listing from New York to Berlin.
Korova's 'Just Like Peter Cook' was also voted best song of 2005 by London-based Earwax Radio, beating the likes of The Arcade Fire, Maximo Park and The Magic Numbers. Due to the success of the song they will be releasing it together with another track, 'Microwave Romance', as a double a-side 7" in June 2006 with Tough Love Records.
Korova have been described as:
"Spiky and jagged like a heart monitor recording a cardiac arrest... Korova have a drive, honesty and an edge which sear through their songs."
-DrownedInSound, live review
"A driving anthem with a chorus so killer it shouldn't so much be issued with a government health warning as quarantined from the outset and isolated in a government laboratory in case of future outbreak!"
-The Gaudie, 'Just Like Peter Cook' single review
"Brilliantly trashy guitars allied to a throbbing bass... with searing vitriolic vocals."
-GodIsInTheTv Zine
"Discordant and tense, incorporating angular and disorientating guitar work alongside fiercely passionate vocals... this band already play with such furious intent it would be hard not to sit up and take notice."
-DrownedInSound
Korova insist that they are the best Scottish export of the past 10 years.
