Last night, I headed down to a signing by The Neptunes' somewhat under-achieving funk-rock band NERD - or should I say the keyboard-wrangling N*E*R*D.

By the time Pharrell, Chad Hugo and, um, the other guy, turned up an hour-and-a-half late, ridiculously fashionable fans were queuing round the block and into the nearby square for the chance to meet their heroes. Check out the faithful and the not-unscary bouncer keeping them under control here:

The boutique hosting the signing seemed to exclusively stock clothes from Williams' two ranges, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream. For any of you heading down there to pick up your piece of Pharrell apparel, a word of warning: the jacket on the left was priced at £475, while the one in the middle was a snip at £410. Naturally, on an NME freelancer's wages, I picked up both...
I took the pic at the top (taken through the mass of photographers) shortly before I interviewed Pharrell about producing The Strokes (check out the NME.COM news story for more) for a grand total of 46 seconds.
