If you've heard Leona Lewis' cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run', you can already guess what her cover of Oasis' 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' sounds like: quiet and silky-voiced to begin with, ultimately building to an immense, orchestra-backed climax complete with gospel choir and Whitney Houston-grade, multi-octave bellowing.

It's tailor-made for a moment on The X Factor where a winning contestant starts crying and a glitter-cannon goes off, and Louis Walsh goes all damp-eyed and wobbly-lipped. It's also unbelievably formulaic, and will almost certainly be a titanic international hit.

But what do you think? Has Lewis ruined Oasis' song, or redeemed it? Is it just too overblown to be enjoyable? Or do you find yourself guiltily swept along by the sheer, manipulative emotion of it?

As I don't think that "Stop crying your heart out" is a good Oasis song, her excessive pop glaze just makes it worse
Shivvy [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 17:45
It's not meant to sound like that! It's meant to be Liams whiney but some how gorgeous voice.
Joe Methedrone [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 17:46
I am usually a massively militant Oasis fan but I am actually finding myself a bit swept up in this. Until we get the real thing back this is alright
GarryBoy [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 17:57
What an absolute fucking travesty!!!!!! Surely Noel could have blocked this from happening?????????
maria [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:05
Cheesy or not, i think this is one of the best Oasis songs: I love the contrast between the lazy, cold and ignorant (albeit whiney and gorgeus as Shivvy said) voice of Liam G and the unbelievably beautiful and comforting lyrics. Obvisouly Leona doesn't quite deliver here. She sounds boring, there's no spark or emotion, it's just one of those spiritless, empty mum-pop ballads. The original song bleeds of blood and meaning, this one is bosh. maria playparanoid.blogspot.com
michael [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:07
it's a shame she's covered it, it's ruined any meaning the song once had and turned in into a crappy x-factor-esque gimmick :/.
Goda [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:09
Great Heavens. This is a total fiasko. It's too whiney, too superficial, too... pop. I guess Oasis version is the only right version.
next, please. [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:15
utter shite. enough spoken.
Lauren [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:18
I hate this woman. She takes beautiful songs and twists them into her vile slitting wrist style. First Snow Patrol, now this. I applaud the bloke who smacked her one. Ruined. Ruined. Ruined.
AllHailBealing [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:20
Oh dear. Leona Lewis ruins another song. I feel the same sickness as when I first heard her cover of 'Run' by Snow Patrol. I'm gonna have to turn it off now before I actually start crying my heart out...
Luke Lewis [Member] //November 9 2009 at 18:23
"I applaud the bloke who smacked her one." That's a bit harsh, Lauren.
Ewan [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:23
oh god not again why can't she write her own songs i wrote one incliding guitar and drums in 20mins??????
Rodney [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:31
I wish Leona would stop covering Indy band songs, she's written some good songs on her new album, just leave indy bands alone.
booo. [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:33
not a fan. she took the song and made it like every other pop song. make something new. please.
Fizzy [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:55
Wow! Another fantastic cover from Leona! She can make any song her own. Such a powerful emotional rendition! Definitely a triumph!!! You go girl.....
kiki [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 18:55
Oh please get of your high horses because its an oasis song it cant be touched ... firstly both versions are just as good , leona's captivates emotion with the gradual changes , dynamics and adding amazing falseto which is not overly done with too many runs and also to add if anything if this is released as a single oasis get the profit from the single so theres nothing to be complaining about I think both versions are amazing and her cover has done justice like always but always free to send in your cover versions aswell
kiki [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:00
And I also add the same thing was said about snow patrols run and that became the fastest selling single and also highly praised by snow patrol themselves and they also had a massive profit from the single x factor or not you cant deny this girl has amazing vocal talent covers or no covers
Kate [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:01
Wow, what is with all the negative comments?!! She's an amazing singing, think you all need to cheer up a bit.
33 herts [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:09
What a pile of old rubbish, boring and a proper durge. Give it up, and leave Oasis songs alone
Colin [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:09
So much better, at least Leona can sing!!!!
Matt [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:11
With this song, I think the more intimate it sounds, the better... I actually prefer the demo version to the final oasis version and Noel does an excellent acoustic version too. There's a touching sentiment behind the song and when it's recorded in such an overblown way as this, that gets lost.
Alex [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:14
There's no denying that she's technically got a great voice, but why can't she sing her own fucking songs? I've got no problem with artists covering songs that mean a lot to them and sticking it on an album or a b side, but this is just to make money. I highly doubt Leona is an oasis fan and I'd be surprised if the lyrics mean shit to her. I’m getting a bit sick of all this over-produced, meaningless, plastic stuff that we’re supposed to get Goosebumps from. I want something REAL just like the original version of this song was!
[Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:19
The only person that should/could have a legitimate gripe with this is Noel himself but if it's going to keep him in nice cardies and vintage guitars for years to come I'm sure he'll get over it. I wonder if Lauren would still "applaud the bloke who smacked her one" had she been the victim of assault by a mentally unstable bloke?
ewan the donkey lover and his gigantic freshman's eggshell! [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:20
not a bad cover, but certainly nowhere near as good as the original. kudos for trying though, LL x
Mark [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:23
Better than Run anyway.
Isabelle Sanlove [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 19:24
Speak what u know and if u don't know then close your lips and go away if she is soo bad of a singer, if she is soo sick then why listen to the song snow patrol front man liked ms.Leona cover of there run song and most pro music reviews liked or loved it plus the cover did well as in success .
Liam G [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:08
Seriously awful stuff :s Just shows what a crap excuse x-factor is for british culture
matt [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:13
It's what you'd expect from her doing this song - she doesn't butcher it, doesn't add anything to it either. Just pleasant banality. And the bloke who smacked her one should have his cock ripped off and be made to eat it.
Endri [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:16
Totally triumph the truth is that i would never hear the song if she didn't sang it.She just makes it so beautiful with an amazing voice, the voice of Oasis is so irritating while Leona's is so smooth.
Vincent [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:27
jaysus.... a gritty ballad now covered by a manufactured souless puppet. how was this allowed to happen? www.absolutetunage.com
Joshua [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:34
Liam's voice is grinding and horrible.
dan [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:46
i love how people think that only one version of a song shud be mad...wen leona lewis brought run out it sold heap loads worldwide...yet it also brought snow patrol back from the brink of flop. leona interprets it different to oasis and it sounds like a totally different song from a womans vulnerable position.....its a great piece of work and remember guys music is art...and its subjective get over yourselves...oasis av split u prob wont hear that song again live...leona does it more than justic i assure u!
lauraheatly [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:50
leona has true talent and the only thing that is obvious is how amazing her voice is. Maybe it's not her own song but a song produced in 20 minutes, well are you signed??? i rest my case.
gerry [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:51
this is beautiful
Brian [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 20:53
Oh what a surprise NME fans not taking to a Leona Tune! get over it, its one of her favourite songs, she wanted to sing it . Result is a worldwide tune and hit no doubt. end of
Siany T [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 21:08
1) Leona is undeniabally really talented whether u like her or not 2) Anyone who condones violence towards others is obviously a complete fool and not worth noting 3) This cover is not great BUT 4) in the bigger picture she will bring it back, she will deliver it to another audience who otherwise wouldn't even know the song and it will also lead people back to the original which is a good thing, keeping it up there with the classics. Nuff said lol ;) PEACE!
Mike [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 21:23
LOVE IT.... The best cover !
elle [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 21:30
maybe ive been living in aave or somn, but i dont know [or dont recognize] this cover,....guess it's been changed so much, its not recognizable?
WDF [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 21:35
I don't get the point to this? It's not even good, it's like karaoke Oasis.
Melanie [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 21:44
Loving it! I love the original but this is different enough to be great too. Lauren - You sound like a right twat.
the boy with the thorn in his side [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 22:01
Oh God, it'll be massive and will ruin a great song for me even if it's two B-Sides were better
the boy with the thorn in his side [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 22:02
Oh God, it'll be massive and will ruin a great song for me even if it's two B-Sides were better
[Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 22:30
on par with original
Katy [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 22:44
NO! Leona has a good voice, but she's stripped the meaning out of the song here. The lyrics to this song scream out when Liam sings it, he calls out to you. But listening to this version, you barely even notice the lyrics, it doesn't soothe those wounds, it doesn't make life seem ok like it does when Liam sings it. When Oasis do it, you feel inspired to stop moaning and want to make something of your life. This just doesn't really do anything at all. It's disappointing, because Leona has the ability to put emotion to lyrics, so I'm confused as to why she's not captured the yearning essence of the song.
Matt Powney [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 22:55
Like every leona lewis can't help but admire an truly incredible voice! Likewise with the snow patrol cover, what she does with her voice is phenomenal, i agree the arrangement is cliched and very predictable but despite that am still left in awe
Gazza [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 22:55
Beautiful version how it should be sung!
Dave [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 22:59
Its a brilliant song, rather this than snow patrol any day. Of corse the Oasis version is always going to be better. Just imagine the money Noel will make out of this if your all worrying about it. Oasis version was in the top 100 downloads aswell last time i looked.
Em [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 23:28
Omg she ruined it
AmblingMan [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 23:30
RE GarryBoy it's obvious why Noel didn't block it, he'll make a fortune from this!
Josh [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 23:30
i had to turn it off when she started to just make random ohhs in the middle, i happen to think noel gallagher is the best song writter of all time and i agree that only liams voice does this song justice its one of my favourite songs from one of there best albums
Kevin [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 23:31
How has she ruined the song, the oasis version still exists you retards.
Veronica [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 23:32
Fuckin hell... was this necessary!?! She has RUINED a very beautiful song... To have what is commonly regarded as a "good voice" does not mean you can sing any song and make it sound good, let alone better than the original.
Sludgewick [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 23:44
Oasis is just as manipulative and contrived, like any other pop group. Who cares if she exploits this emotional dribble? Oasis did the same thing.
louis mcdermott [Visitor] //November 9 2009 at 23:45
how rubbish
Scott [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 00:02
This is absolutely disgusting, she has completely ruined one of Oasis all time great songs.
chazzaaaaaaa [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 00:07
im a massive fan of oasis and normally try and be open minded about covers but this is simply terrible
Andy [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 00:07

June [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 01:19
fecking travesty, I hate Leona Lewis.
Ohnosis [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 01:56
As an Oasis fan I never really liked this song but no way should it be used in this demeaning manner. X factor needs to burn itself out and fast!!
chris [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 03:40
not sure why people are so outraged that she's ripped off Oasis.......they were doing it to The Beatles for years ;) on a serious note..so what if she's covered it? Covers and reinterpretations have been just as important as original songs since the 50's (lets not forget how rock & roll came to be) a and as pop songs go its very strong, yeh super schmaltzy but it works on that level so props definitely have to go for the producers for making it work. Who knows, maybe it'll create new fans of the original track?
joan poni [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 03:40
Songs are like hands, they reach out, are given to others. Covers give new life to old songs, they don't replace them or represent their loss. This is a beautiful, moving emotional cover and I thank Leona for it. The harshness of people's predictable responses to it are more than just harsh: they represent a lack of thought and imagination.
Serge Gallagher [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 04:36
Ah it's not too bad, though this is due to the fact that it's such a good song to begin with, rather than anything else. Could lose the pointless screeching over the solo though.
EmilyB [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 07:18
Ewen: Leona does write her own songs so get your facts straight. Stop crying your heart out is the only cover song on this album (Although it doesn't come close to touching the original) But leona has co-written 8 out of 13 songs on her new album and being the lead writer on most of them so before you go round saying she doesn't write her own songs go do some research. And don't worry people this song won't be released as a single from her as it's just a filler track for her album and doesn't even come close to the other songs that she has written on the album.
LadZEPPELIN [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 07:31
For $#!+ sake. Ok so its another vocal girl from another tv show trying to make a name for her self? But don't you think we've had enough of Kelly Clarkson/Britney Spears/Lady Gaga sprouting out the same crap?? I think I'd rather prefer someone with a good taste in music - Snow Patrol and Oasis, re-interpreting great songs for a young mainstream (X Factor/Idol) audience to appreciate. Maybe possibly then people will go back and explore where those great songs came from. Then discover the greatness of real artists.
sodhat [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 09:06
Hahaha, Noel would never block this, he's said himself that his history of 'borrowing' would make it hypocritical. I've not heard it yet (darned work) but I doubt I need to...I can sort of guess what's coming! Never be better than Oasis though, Heathen Chemistry is a massively underrated album.
Gazhat [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 09:18
...managed 8 seconds of it, and i know where its going, a fucking 4 minute exercise in vocal gymnastics, , when will this X-Craptor karaoke dogshit end ???
Helen [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 09:52
I think it's a good song actually, Oasis are definitely better but this one isn't like...bad. That almost hurts to say, but good job Leona.
crayfish73 [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 10:15
Its a dire version. This easy fame thing has too stop! The ending (choir bit) to this song is sickly. So trashy.
Rob James [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 10:18
I love it. I am a huge oasis fan and gutted by the split. It just shows what a good song it is. I predict oasis WILL HAVE A NUMBER 1 IN THE USA!!
[Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 10:37
Oasis are wank, Leona Lewis is awful. This is definitely awful. Don't need to actually listen to it.
rossojowie [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 10:39
I can never listen to that song again now.......
Hana [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 10:53

You know sometimes a different interpretation of a song sounds great. This one doesn't. What a lifeless piece of shit- sounds like something you would hear in a supermarket you know like Lidl's or maybe Netto's ha ha ha!!!
Garfield Davies [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 10:57
Que another smack in the Face..
Jakee [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 11:11
Lets be honest she made 'Run' sound awful not she will just do the same to 'Stop Crying your hear out' it's disgusting how pop singers think they can take a classic acoustic and make it their own
abra [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 11:26
no,no,no! why?! why she ruined such a golden song?!!
Sam [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 11:32

Steve [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 12:11
Leona Lewis/JLS/Alexandra Burke is what is wrong with this industry. Was a perfect that didn't require her to stick her nose in it. Remember this guys, I guarantee you she will release this on her album.... She annoys me, why can't she just go back to doing w/e she was doing before. Garbage. www.MeLoveMusic.com
Pretty [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 12:17
At the end of the day, she's a vampire for releasing this, it's purely marketing and monetary based. If it was "all about the music" like so many cunt/musicians say nowadays, then she would write her own songs and learn to play some fucking instruments instead of being just a complete puppet. The guy who hit her obviously just really enjoys Snow Patrol, so he's obviously mental.
Black Bob [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 12:30
In my opinion, Oasis were hugely overrated anyway, much better bands came out of Manchester - Joy Division to name one. The fact that she's covered one of their songs is means nowt to me!!
Goldie_Anne [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 13:06
it's not that bad, but nothing compared to Oasis
Ben [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 13:08
Triumph or Travesty? I can't believe this is even up for debate, is it not quite clear that this is shit?
Danni [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 13:22
Why, just WHY are ALL the bloody pop stars ALLWAYS chosing to cover 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'? I mean, it's not like that's the only Oasis-song there is - and it sure isn't the best one! Well, on the other hand, maybe we shoud be thankfull: At least with that one there isn't much to ruin...
Black Bob [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 13:30
The travesty is that Oasis existed in the first place - pile of crap! Don't care about Leona Lewis.

Eccie [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 15:23

Trish1980 [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 16:15
turned it off after 2 mins.. i dont deny she has a technically good and powerful voice but god its like a robot playing the piano or something.. She is so BORING!!!!! she has no personality and puts not emotion into the songs she sings. STIFF BORING DULL DULL DULL!!!!!!!!!!! Not a huge oasis fan but do like this song when they do it.
kiki [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 17:09
Actually leona plays guitar and piano has writen two albums previous x factor so do some research before talking rubbish , next point Leonas made this song her own which is what covers are ment to be about , shes interpreted it in her own way adding roar emotion , meaning and delivery with great vocals and how hypocritical oasis have done the same thing many times taking covers from other artists but as soon as someone else does one of theres its shock horror obviously some of you need to be more open minded or just clearly dont listen even better why are you listening to an artist you dont like pointless !
Nathan Harrison [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 17:09
Shite. How dare a reality TV tosser be allowed anywhere near a tune of such magnitude.

LI [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 17:18
WHAT THE FUCK!!!
kekule [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 17:38
Noel can't sing like Leona and Leona can't write like Noel. I hate how all the fans of the original music assume that no artist who can hold a tune or with amazing vocal ability could possibly feel anything for the song. Leona is a person with real experiences too - just because she doesn't have a gravelly voice which naturally sounds like it its been around doesn't mean she hasn't sung it with emotion. Give her a break, she sounds beautiful, you might like the original better, but don't tell her she doesn't feel it!
Chris [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 17:45
Good cover, but never can be like oasis!
[Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 18:33
Stop letting her doing shit covers of classic songs!!!!
[Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 18:50
You really think that run by snow patrol is a classic song? Waiting for the man is a classic song, i wanna be yr dog is a classic song. Run is like all snow patrol other output, oversentimental dogshit. Oh yeah and so is this.
Me [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 19:38
She did this for her fans who like listening to her voice. She chose this song as it fits in with her new 'rockier' album. I understand some people don't like great artists song's being covered, as there are a few songs which I wouldn't like to be covered by anyone, but you also have to remember there is a small chance she actually suggested to do this, she is tied to a record company. Therefore, she doesn't deserve to be slapped, she is human, and she is doing what she loves, why spoil it?
Made in Palau [Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 20:10
The original version (Oasis' version) of Stop Crying Your Heart Out is great; Leona's cover of the song is just as good. People who don't like it are just jealous of how successful she has become. Seriously, you people need to relax, stop defending Oasis, and enjoy the music. After all, these artists sing songs to entertain us. This cover is amazing, so Stop Crying Your Heart Out about how Oasis' version is much better, and ENJOY the music. XOXO!
[Visitor] //November 10 2009 at 21:41
This really does'nt sound right. But it does prove what a beautiful song it is...
Visitor [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 01:46
Obviously her voice is good, but she has no right in letting a wider audience of clueless pop lovers who won't connect with the song, to hear such a gem.
Steve [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 11:23
I don't find fault with leon aor her voice, it's the usual lifeless x-factoresque arrangemnt that has removed any ooomph this song had. The original had a rawness that made it seem much more sincere than this, which just sounds exactly like simon cowell's next xmas no 1.
Paul [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 12:37

Ive no problem with L.Lewis covering the song. Shes obviously got a good voice but wheres the personality? As far as the argument that oasis have covered songs - yeah they have, but as bsides and only 2-3 times over a career spanning 15 odd years. And their I Am The Walrus cover is fucking immence
Alina [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 17:05

bed wetting girls - "i feel sorry for noel" ... yeah, im sure he's upset with his royalty cheque you moron!
Bleid [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 21:26
Oasis wins.Leona is a commercial product
Chr1s [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 22:38
Oh no... Sounds like crap now. Should have stopped before it began.
Matt [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 23:07
I agree with Sodhat, Heathen Chemistry is probably their most underrated album. If this cover turns the teeny boppers onto Oasis then it's done it's job.
Woody [Visitor] //November 11 2009 at 23:10
Oh man what are y0u people on, Leona has managed to turn a song that sounded like an angry man with a small penis complex ranting into something that is listenable, if she should feel bad it is for lowering her standards to take this on. As for the idiot who said she screwed up snow patrol's run - what planet do you live on Because it was 10 times more popular than rhe original and sold millions of copies it really must be bad and the fact snow patrol said she turned a song they did not like and only made to make money sound beutiful and called her talanted and creative it must be really terrible
the vines are still good [Visitor] //November 12 2009 at 05:40
why?why did queen allow five to cover we will rock you and why did oasis allo....cant...finish ...sentence...so ....angry...
fuck you leona [Visitor] //November 12 2009 at 07:33
as bad as ''run''
paul [Visitor] //November 12 2009 at 09:09
i think shes done ok how can anyone on here say she deserved to get smacked in the face im sure you wouldnt think the same if you had recieved that for nothing how vile to say such a thing
mary [Visitor] //November 12 2009 at 11:10
absolutely awful. Leona cannot sing a song without a howl in the middle of it.
Chris [Visitor] //November 12 2009 at 16:16
I'm sure Noel is loving this - he can just sit back and let the cash roll in.
aaa/x [Visitor] //November 12 2009 at 18:46
its not that bad (:
Coffee [Visitor] //November 13 2009 at 09:02
Why are so many ppl wailing, tearing out their hair , foaming/gagging/rolling on the floor and beating their chests over this Oasis cover? read Me's comments a few posts up. Ranters, do try thinking more, it'll help fill up that Huge Space between those ears. Peace....out....
Woody [Visitor] //November 13 2009 at 15:04
Absolutley garbage !!!!! - a truely great Rock & Roll songs ruined. Same as snow patrol cover.
Oll [Visitor] //November 14 2009 at 09:02
Urrrgh Sentimental shite I hate how this is going to make Simon Cowell loads of money. She's got a good voice, but no-one actually knows what it sounds like because all of her songs are smothered in auto-tune. Where's the sense of reality? Good song that should never have been touched.........
Claire [Visitor] //November 14 2009 at 13:38
In response to above asking why didn't Noel block it?? Because he's gonna make more money from it than he's made from any other Oasis single. He's not stupid.
blahblah [Visitor] //November 14 2009 at 21:11
just to let you all know who are ranting about why noel didn't stop her from doing this: because he can't. no one can, as long as the songwriter is mentioned in the credits. that's how it works, no need for a permission. and that's why rod stewart did a cover of cigs & alcohol.
nins [Visitor] //November 15 2009 at 04:52
It sounds so bad, instead of cheering you up, or whatever the lyrics should do, it makes you wanna kill yourself..
Simon Cowell [Visitor] //November 15 2009 at 05:55
Not only is she dull as a personality, but her songs are dull, her covers are dull and her horseshoes are dull.
Lola [Visitor] //November 15 2009 at 08:29
I think you all need to stop moaning. It's a bloody good effort. She can really sing.
idk [Visitor] //November 16 2009 at 00:50
omg. its pretty boring, and terrible. it doesnt have that contrast of indifference and a good voice. not that leona's isnt good, but this just isn't a song from her. oasis i miss u!
adam [Visitor] //November 16 2009 at 11:41
leona lewis should fuck right off. ruining another great song. we should let leona lewis write her own fucking songs and we will see how succesful she is.
gar [Visitor] //November 16 2009 at 12:20
none of these x faxtor retards can right a tune whats wrong wit the world in five years the charts will be filled with x factor retards singing everyone elses tunes .
Joanna [Visitor] //November 16 2009 at 16:52
I LOVE IT!!!!!!! She sings it so beautifully!
Who gives a f*** about an oxford comma? [Visitor] //November 17 2009 at 12:33
No surprise with comments here. A Typical 'not allowed to like anything remotely related to pop, i'm supposed to be alternative' reaction. This isn't the best cover you'll ever here, but fair play to her for trying something different, and there is no doubt she has a brilliant voice.
MATT MB101 [Visitor] //November 17 2009 at 16:09
UTTER SHT. Stick it in the bin, what is the NME doing promoting this dogshit on behalf of x factor. There is shit loads of far better, original unsigned bands around the country that NME ignores in favour of promoting dogshit on belhalf of the X Factor. What next, NME X Factor issue with Leona interviews. Shite
Peter [Visitor] //November 17 2009 at 16:59
People have gone to jail for worse. Her versions of Run and SCYHO are both terrible. Granted she's a better singer than Liam or Gary but there are certain songs that should be sung a certain way and she doesn't seem to get that. Royalties for Noel is the only positive of this situation.
Dan [Visitor] //November 18 2009 at 10:25
This is complete rubbish. I think the way liam sings it is perfect and thats the way it should of stayed. sort her out noel!
ben [Visitor] //November 18 2009 at 12:43
it's not great but tbh the original was hardly oasis' shining hour. I'd rather it was this than "Talk Tonight"!
George Tait [Visitor] //November 18 2009 at 13:45
I think Lauren deserves condemnation for 'applauding the bloke who slapped her one'. For a moment, I thought I had wandered on to Mailonline by mistake. As for the 'SCYHO', I never liked the original and thought it evidence of the continuing decline of the most over-rated band since The Smiths; a song more suited to the comedy band, Shed Seven. I don't like Leona Lewis's version either but she does lend the song a bit of class and she tackles it with the kind of emotional intensity that is missing on the original. And if it irritates indie snobs, then good on her. I look forward to her version of The Strokes's 'The Modern Age' with gleeful anticipation.
