So, you weren’t at the Libertines reformation gig on Friday night (May 15)? No matter, I video-ed the whole thing for you. Well, apart from ‘Death On The Stairs’, because I’d slinked off to try and wait in the wings for an interview.

Here’s what it looked like. Yes, it was amazing.

And here’s a blog about what it was like backstage and down the front at the first gig Pete, Carl and Gary have played together since they split in 2004.

Enjoy.

This is absolutely incredible - gutted that I missed it. I'm praying that they now think "the time is right", seeing as they didn't when they turned down Reading for a lot of money. Would actually die with happiness if they played at Glastonbury!

You're awesome! Thanks for this. Did you, by any chance, get the interview? Would look forward to it, in this week NME? :)
Jack [Visitor] //May 18 2009 at 09:10
shame you missed the one Carl song but still quality - cheers! The thing that makes me want to kill myself a bit is that i was on teh ticket website and thought 'na fuck it, i'll buy Marina And the Diamonds tickets instead'

Just in time for Glastonbury..?
Jamie Fullerton [Member] //May 18 2009 at 10:48
Hi Ariana, no interview I'm afraid - Pete and Carl scarpered to Whitechapel straight afterwards and Gary went straight home, but James Quinton did some amazing photos - expect to see a gallery in next week's NME!

ben [Visitor] //May 18 2009 at 17:19
amazing, wish could have been there
Bryony [Visitor] //May 18 2009 at 17:53
Wow. Doesn't this show the power of music, how it can push everything else away and leave you with a sense of calm or hope and how music can put everything else in life into perspective. How on the smaller scale if two amazingly talented musicians can overcome the amount of hardships they are put through on the wider scale surely this is reassuring for everything else. You could either look it in that over the top way or say wow it looks like a brilliant gig wish I'd been there...

This absolutely fantastic! So nice to see! I wish John was there too. It would of made it all the better but Drew is still one of my faves of course! But The Libertines are one of those rare bands that you need all four members to make it complete! It is definately the chemistry................. I hope they get back together, I really do! Thanks for the footage!
