Click through for the rest of our picks of last week's Eurosonic festival - Europe's very own South By Southwest.
Remember Phoebe from Friends and her folk song 'Smelly Cat'? Well, transplant her to Paris and give her a petite makeover, and you've got something approaching Soko. She's the new kook pop Kate Nashalike songstress and has been signed for an amount of money that means, at the very least you'll be hearing a lot from her very soon. Anyway, her song 'I Wanna Look Like A Tiger' is the smelly cat song, but the standout is 'I Think I'm Pregnant'. The twist at the end is that she isn't pregnant, she's just doing a big fart. You probably had to be there.
The Whip have always been firm favourites of mine, and they continued their sequence of blinders over at electro HQ, aka the Simplon Bar. The revamped version of former single 'Trash' is packing some serious balls. And from what I'm told, they went down rather better than Robyn, who "looked a bit bored," according to our spies.
The remains of The Darkness - The Stone Gods - also put in an appearance, but we're clinging to the idea that is we ignore them, they might go away.
Special mentions also to returning skew-poppers The Shortwave Set, London dandies Palladium, and our favourite of all the Dutch homeland acts, propulsive emotronic firebrands, Hospital Bombers. Check out their tune 'The Devil's Music', people, it's funny.
And relax.
