Brent Grulke is kind of the Michael Eavis of SXSW. Okay, so he doesn't actually own the town of Austin, but he may as well do. As creative director of the festival, he's been involved since day one, and is chiefly responsible for whittling the 12,000 applicant bands down to the 1700 that make it.
