It's nearly a decade since NME raved about Turin Brakes' 'The Optimist LP' - but while the hype machine may have moved on, the folky London duo are still a quietly wonderful band.

And 'Sea Change', the first track from forthcoming fifth album 'Outbursts', is very much one of those "I'd forgotten how good they were" moments, showcasing Olly Knights' soulful croon to splendid effect.

Wow, I can't believe you're being nice about them. What a pleasant surprise.

That is total bollocks, 'raved about Turin Brakes'. NME have said several times that upon The Strokes arrival, bands like Starsailor, Stereophonics and the whole 'nu-acoustic movement' shit was swept away, including Turin Brakes. What a fucking joke!

Bollocks. What are you, 5? Were you not actually around when The Optimist LP was launched and NME just couldn't b fucked with Turin Brakes after all of 10 mins before they moved onto yet another "next big thing". You know, like The Next Big Thing you hype each week on the front cover. I mean, how many Next Big Things can there be in a month!?! You're a fucking joke, but yes - Turin Brakes are indeed an excellent band and it's about time the NME gave them the critical nod they deserve. I thank you.
