Spice Girls seem to be experiencing something of a Renaissance at the moment, in light of the 20th anniversary of ‘Wannabe’. A couple of weeks ago, we expressed our joy at the prospect of a Spice Girls reunion. Now, it seems our theory that everyone’s a secret Spicies fan is right. The entertainment industry’s greatest female talent, like Emma Watson, are wiggling out of the woodwork to express their love for Posh, Baby, Scary, Sporty and Ginger, including, as of last night, Emma Roberts.
The actress took to Instagram to post a video of herself giving a loud rendition of ‘Wannabe’ on a moving subway. It was a dare to promote her new film but either way, it’s a bit special.

Roberts used the hashtag #findyourNERVE, and passed on the dare to her friends Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Brit Elkin and Kara Elkin. “You have 24 hours” to “go sing in public!” Emma instructed. To be honest, I would probably do the same if Emma told me to. Need I remind you of Chanel Oberlin?
The recording is being used to promote Roberts’ new film, Nerve. The movie tells the story of Vee (Roberts), a high schooler stuck in a game of online ‘play to win’ dares. Nerve is released in the UK cinemas on July 31st.
