In The Studio - Behind the scenes at NME Radio - Behind the scenes at NME Radio

Hi I'm NME Radio's Firas, and can I just say it's a pleasure to be welcomed aboard the HMS NME and be given the chance to showcase some fine electronic tracks to penetrate your ears.

This blog is all about warming you up for the weekend. Perfect for an afternoon of time wasting, watching the clock, wondering whether you'll get the girl, how many drinks over your recommended daily alcohol allowance you're going to pass and just why your boss gets to go on a 3 hour boozy lunch break.

continued...

First up, Oliver Jones - aka Skream - who is in big demand at the minute. Ever since his epic remix of La Roux blew the faces off 99.9% of clubbers, he's been DJing, remixing and producing for England.

I've had a few beers with the man from Croydon and he told me once he'd gone into the studio with Jamie T but they ended up having a few cans of red stripe and a chat. Just imagine if that had come off.

Here he is with this sexy little number.

Next up - Fake Blood. A man who's identity was shrouded in mystery until a few months ago.
His name is Theo Keating and he's produced under the names DJ Touche, Black Ghosts, was a founding member of the Scratch Perverts and was once part of The Wiseguys (they were behind that 'Ooh La La' track which went global thanks to Budweiser).

This is a staple track in my DJ sets at the moment. I don't think I like it, I love it.

Last but by no means least. A-Trak is a man that won the DMC DJ Championship at the age of 15. Kanye West saw him playing in a record shop and asked him to come on tour with him. Now at 27 he's churning out his own tracks veering away from his hip hop routes. He's also teamed up with the mighty Armand Van Helden to create the production duo Duck Sauce.
