My karaoke song…

"I was having a drink with a friend in a bar in Manchester and we were having this really interesting conversation when this song came on really loud. I just completely interrupted my friend, stood up and sang every single word at full volume."

Saturday 7th Nov: Manchester
Let's hit the road one last time on this little UK run! Back through the mystic highlands and into England. We noticed a clump of trees formed in the exact shape of a dick along the way... well, Kam noticed it.

I'm stoked to be in Manchester - this was one of the best shows on the run we did with Katy in March... people were going crazy and having a lot of fun - we're actually in the same room that we played with Katy, which is really exciting.

Pulling up into the city was really exciting - it's always fun to think about all the bands that you know from a particular city, and try to picture their lives in their home cities when you are driving into them. The show was great - that room is really a great place to play. All sorts of crazy shit going down in the crowd. Tough to say what was better.. the Manchester gig or the Glasgow one.. Glasgow was more intimate.. Manchester was more epic. We had some post-tour drinks with everyone on the tour backstage, did some pushups, and yelled real loud. This little tour has been wonderful - I really can't wait to get back out here in the UK and play again. I'm on the airplane home now. There's a washed-up, acid-crawlback, older hippie lady sitting next to me invading my personal space. If you can read this please get off my shoulder. Thanks. Until next time, goodbye!

Friday, November 6 - Glasgow:
Woke up and got back on the road to Glasgow.. our bass player Kam was 25 minutes late - at 2 pounds a minute that comes to a hefty late fee of 50 pounds, man.... sucks for you!

The road to Scotland was gorgeous - rainy in the highlands but so crazy - some parts really reminded me of the southwest of France where my Mom is from. We watched the Fifth Element along the way - I solidified that as one of my favorite movies of all time, if not my fave. The story is so well written, and visual aesthetic is perfect, and Milla Jovovich is such a fucking babe, man...DAMN. We got to Glasgow and it was pissing rain.

The venue looked pretty rad, though - we got all sound checked and settled and ready to RIP. The show that night was really great - I think probably the best of the whole tour as far as atmosphere and vibe. We were all going apeshit - band and crowd included. What a fun time. We really hope to come back and play T In The Park this summer for sure - that festival rules. I can't wait to come back and play festivals in the UK in general - they are so much fun and people are so rad out here. It really feels like they are just true fans of music - they support and LOVE it, just like we do. And not just a specific genre of music.. As a musician, that's the best thing one could ever hope for - that kind of support and enthusiasm for the art in general. Fuck, man - what a great place!

The hip-hop star explains why he'll sell you condoms, but not booze - and why he wants to be remembered "like Michael Jackson".
I don't mind people thinking I'll fuck them up.
If you push a lion into a corner then you shouldn’t expect him to give you a kiss and rub noses, you should expect him to attack. If you don’t say things aggressively and do things aggressively then people take you for a pushover. There are artists that have made themselves more approachable. People do things to them, maybe walk on their stage while they are performing, because they’re safe. Meanwhile, the guy who sets himself in a place where people know there is a possibility that things will go wrong, they don’t play games with him.

Sunday, November 1st – LONDON [day off]:

I woke up and stalked to people online, Gentleman Stalking of course - classy and sophisticated. Made some beats and continued to amass a bunch of ideas for Sean and I to work on when we get back in the studio early next year. I can't wait - making music has always been so fucking fun, and writing as 3OH!3 is the best of it - we've been on tour so long that we haven’t really had time to get down and pound out a bunch of new stuff... that time is coming.. I'm so excited. Our bass player and drummer Kam and Adam flew in to play the UK shows with us (both are from Colorado - Kam has his own band, The Chain Gang of 1974, and Adam was one-half of the much acclaimed, and now finished?? duo of Young Coyotes).

I took off from Denver Airport bound for Paris, by way of Cincinnati. As we get ready to go onto the runway, the flight attendant picks up a book and asks me if it's mine. The title is "Me and My God." I tell her that that particular piece of literature is most certainly NOT mine. Screaming baby on the flight to Paris, dude weighing in at a grand total of maybe 400 or 450 snoring his happy little head off - perfect.
