Remember Paul the Octopus? Arguably the most famous octopus of all time, he made his name at the 2010 World Cup when he accurately guessed the outcome of a number of the tournament’s biggest matches.

Well it turns out that Noel Gallagher has similar skills. Stopped by Manchester City’s online team ahead of their League Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley yesterday, Gallagher predicted that his team would struggle to beat Liverpool but that they would eventually take the game on penalties. He even went as far as to state that Yaya Toure would convert the winning penalty.

Look away now if you don’t want to know how the game ended but Noel totally called it. The game finished 1-1 after extra time with Man City winning the game on penalties. Toure stepped up the decide the game after City’s goalkeeper Willy Caballero saved three Liverpool penalties in a row.
