You sometimes wonder: what came first, the concept or the name. In this case, surely, the answer is the former. Yes, hello, welcome, Mac Sabbath, to the annals of history of greatest novelty bands of all time. We’ve had the Metallica/Beatles mash-up Beatallica and Hatebeak, a death metal band fronted by Waldo the parrot. But we’ve never had a McDonald’s themed Black Sabbath band. Until now, that is, dear readers. Until now.

Fronted by some nightmare Ronald McDonald, they have a variation on ‘Iron Man’ called ‘Frying Pan’, which is heavier than a Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin weighing on your gut. The band – who also do a ‘Paranoid’ cover called, erm, ‘Pair-a-buns’ – is embarking a US tour, with support from the Elvis tribute Clownvis Presley. Shit name. They should hit up MaCaulay Culkin and see about a collaboration with his pizza-themed Velvet Underground act Pizza Underground.
