Fan Mistakes Kevin Hart For Chris Rock, 33 Million People Laugh

It’s happened to us all at some point: you’re walking down the street, minding your own business, when BAM – something, or rather someone, catches your eye. “Isn’t that whatshisface from that show?” you say with barely a whisper, nudging your companion in the side. “You know, the guy who was in that thing we saw last week? Ahh, c’mon, you remember!”

In this moment of hesitancy, your next quandary arises: “Do I approach [said famous face] and ask for a photo? My Instagram is in dire need of some likes, so this would do me the world of good. I mean, what could go wrong?

None of this foresight was put into practice by a woman in LA who bumped into US comedian Kevin Hart in a hotel lobby on Tuesday. Although the initial encounter wasn’t caught on camera, Hart whipped out his phone to record the awkward situation: this unfortunate woman in question had summoned the courage to speak to the Ride Along star, but had fallen at the final hurdle by identifying him as fellow comedian Chris Rock. Watch the evidence below:

Hart, to his credit, plays along with her confusion, asking her to clarify that she does indeed think he is Chris Rock without trying not to burst into fits of uncontrollable laughter. “These are the moments I love”, he titled the subsequent video, sharing the embarrassing encounter with just the 33 million of his Instagram followers.

Let this be a warning to you, dear reader: next time you think you’ve spotted someone famous who you want to have a picture with, make sure you check and triple-check that you know exactly who they are.
