The pursuit of happiness...

15/05/07 05:16:35 pm

In a mere matter of hours and minutes the 2007 Topman New Music Tour will launch their campaign for the pursuit of musical enlightenment amongst punters nationwide.

The Rumble Strips, Blood Red Shoes, Pull Tiger Tail and The Little Ones will be cramming themselves into the tour bus to drink, pee, sweat and vomit together for a two whole weeks and they will blog the whole gory lot of it direct to you, via these very pages.

Keep an eye out for the juicy stuff...coming soon.

NME

1. Oasis - 'Live Forever'

05/05/07 03:40:30 am

HERE IT IS! THE BEST INDIE ANTHEM OF ALL TIME! THE SONG THAT GETS YOU DANCING, SHOUTING, SHAKING, LOVING, LEERING AND TOUCHING PEOPLE YOUR SHOULDN'T. And, um, what's this girl doing? Sleeping, that's what. Kids these days, eh?

2. Nirvana - 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'

05/05/07 03:39:20 am

Look ma, we found a rocker! Just after this picture was taken he headbanged his way into oblivion. It wasn't a pretty sight.

NME

3. Pulp - 'Common People'

05/05/07 03:38:18 am

You make the joke - we can't be arsed.

NME

4. The Smiths - 'There is a Light That Never Goes Out'

05/05/07 03:37:04 am

A maudlin tune at best, but these folk eschewed it in favour of looking at pics of one of their mates naked which she accidentally sent to someone she shouldn't. Some times there are things more important than indie music. This is one of those things.

NME

5. The Libertines - 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun'

05/05/07 03:36:00 am

Sound advice from Pete and Carl here. Looking back into the sun can burn the cornea yadda yadda, and no-one wants that. This lady demonstrates how, if you have to, you should look into the sun.
