Beady Eye At Isle Of Wight Festival 2011 - Review

Who: Beady Eye

Where and When: Main Stage, Sunday

Vibe: Playing to a rain-drenched but lager-ed up crowd of fans, the vibe was raucously victorious for audience and band alike. The fans because they'd survived the downpours and made it to the penultimate set of the weekend, Beady Eye because they were kicking off their first season of festival shows. The group are also set to play Reading And Leeds, T and Oxegen.

Best bit: 'The Roller'. Oh, and Liam's interesting choice of jacket (see above).

Low point: The fans that, even now, were screaming for Oasis songs. A shame really, as this had been absent from most of Beady's own headline gigs. So kindly stop shouting in my ear: "CIGARETTES AND ALCOHOOOOOOOL!"

Banter: Liam told the crowd, they "still look pretty good, mate," despite the rain. And flicked a few V-signs...

Verdict: A great second-from-top set for Isle Of Wight and a great first UK festival show for Beady Eye - plus none of the band played the event with Oasis. The opportunity for a lot of fans who missed out on tickets for their headline tour shows to see what the band can do live.

Rating: 7/10
