So you've donned your black nail varnish, found out your sturdiest wellies for moshing and bought the most rock 'n' roll waterproof trousers you could find - it's time for Sonisphere 2011 and we can tell it's going to be a good'un!

1. Go Green

Get the train and the shuttle bus, or make sure you share lifts with mates.

That's the message from festival organiser Stuart Galbraith:

3. Rock out at the silent disco

Silent discos used to be exciting and new. Now they're kind of over-rated, you have to queue for about 15 hours to get a pair of headphones and it's not even that funny watching hundreds of people dance in silence anymore. However, what about a metal silent disco? BAM. At the Red Bull Tent from 11pm, watch strangers rock out, punch the air and mosh away in the quiet.

3. Have more fun than this guy:

4. Go to the cinema

The cinema screen this year will be showing footage from Sonisphere 2010 so will be the perfect place to relive those memories or see what you missed by being somewhere less incredible on that weekend last year. On the Saturn Screen from midnight.

5. Watch The Big Four

That's why we're all in a wet field in Knebworth isn't it? Let's get our rock-faces on!

Here's Megadeth's David Ellefson talking about the bands playing together:
