I mentioned Pizza in my last blog, right? Well guess what I had for me tea. Today I promise myself to avoid the triangle flat bread of doom for at least one meal.
So I nipped over to Emo's for some Gallows action, check out the news story about the gig here.
I was talking to Stephen after the gig, he said he hates playing to industry type crowds, fair enough, but having seen Gallows more times than Ahab saw Moby Dick, I have to say I kinda like it when they do. If it's possible, it makes them more aggro, more viral and more offensive. Top gig! Check out the photo gallery. But for now, have a look at Frank doing his best King Kong impression:
Wandering the streets yesterday I nipped into this shop Forbidden Fruit, I asked the guy to show me his proudest product, apparently it's moulded from a dead gay porn star, before he died hopefully. Mind you, rigor mortis has some surprising results.
After that little pick me up, I headed over to the conference centre to catch Jarvis give his lecture on lyrics in popular music, I missed the bit where he tells us how Iron Maiden's 'Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter' revolutionised popular misconceptions in heavy metal.
However, this is the moment Jarvis remembered the time he brought me a cup of coffee in a Sheffield rehearsal room whilst I was shooting Richard Hawley for the cool list:
I bumped into Sky Larkin's Katie and her mate yesterday, they seemed to be having a type of food I'm not familiar with:
Right after that, me and Katie went to watch Marnie Stern:
Texas can be brutal, I mean, this lady was innocently walking her dawg...
...next thing you know some beardy bastard is pouring mustard all over it.
Talking of beards, here's my run down of yesterdays follicle based action:
So I'm going to head out right now and get some coffee and avoid eating this:
So until tomorrow, I'll let the pictures do the talking...
