Sunday At Reading And Leeds 2011 - 5 Things To Do

By NME Blog

So it's the last day of Reading and Leeds 2011, which headliner will you be checking out later? Here are five things to do away from the Main Stage, to make sure you make the most of the final bit of the weekend.

1. Celebrate ten years of Bollocks To Poverty at Reading

Those lot in the ActionAid tent are lovely, aren't they? A steady stream of temporary tattoos, stickers, games, comfy seats, DJs and badges - and all for a great cause. Help them celebrate their tenth anniversary at Reading this year.

2. DJ to the crowds at Leeds

Fancy showing off your music taste and your skills on the decks by playing a 20 to 30 minute set to punters at Leeds Festival? Just sign yourself up, bring along your music and use the CD player and iPod dock provided to pretend you're the next Annie Mac in the campsite DJ tents.

3. Donate your unwanted food at Reading

We all know how it is - you get overexcited in the supermarket on the way to the festival, buy more instant noodles than you could eat in a month, and they go to waste. This year, rather than leaving them in a rubbish pile in the campsite, donate them to the Salvation Army food drive. Unperishable food in packets, bottles, tins or cartons will all be gratefully received.

4. Watch Tim Minchin at Reading

Head to the Alternative Stage at 3.30pm for material like this:

5. End the party in style with Transgressive Records and friends at Leeds

Known for their legendary parties to end the Leeds weekend, don't miss the likes of Gold Panda (10.15pm), SBTRKT (11.30pm) and Two Door Cinema Club (12.15am) for DJ slots and extra special live sets as Transgressive Records take over the Alternative Stage.
