As yet there’s no medical limit to the amount of fuzzy, lo-fi surf-pop the human body can take, so here’s another welcome dose from brand new-ish London quartet MUST. ‘Die For You’ – from their debut EP, out now – plonks itself in the middle of that Venn diagram where Sonic Youth, Dandy Warhols and Pixies meet, combining grinding warped guitars with winningly shaky harmonies to create a beautiful mess. The track’s bridge, “Give it up give it up/Waste of time”, could be a chant-along favourite of the summer. Assuming we get one.
MUST’s debut EP is out now on Heart Throb Records. The band play The Shacklewell Arms, London, tonight (5 April).
