Sleater-Kinney: Why You Should Be Hyped About Their Return - By REM, Eleanor Friedberger And Los Campesinos!

Today, folks, is a mighty fine day indeed: riot grrrl heroes Sleater-Kinney have returned. The punk-trio will release their first studio album in 10 years next year, with 'No Cities To Love' set to arrive in January 2015. Even better: they'll also be heading out on the road for a series of live shows including a spate of UK shows. If you've never seen them live before, then this is your chance. Don't miss it.

NME Yes, it's actually going to happen. Noel Gallagher will be on Celebrity Gogglebox tonight. With Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, no less. Foo Fighters' Return Sees Dave Grohl And Co. At Their Most Visceral - The Verdict On The New Single

Over the past year artists have been clamouring to one-up each other when it comes to inventive ways of releasing music. We've had U2's iTunes debacle, Wu Tang Clan's multi-million dollar, lone copy of 'Once Upon A Time In Shaolin', Beyonce's all-video album, Thom Yorke's Bittorrent record, Aphex Twin's deep web 'Syro' shenanigans and now comes perhaps the most thought-out and considered of them all; Foo Fighters' eighth, 'Sonic Highways'.

Spare The Smiths From Hall Of Fame Hell

Nominated for induction in 2015, The Smiths are an ill fit for The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame... The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame: the place where the light finally goes out. It’s rock's House Of Lords, where ancient relics of the rock age are inducted once doctors have confirmed that their primary creative functions have shut down for good. To be inducted is less an honour, more an invitation to a never-ending whist drive at the rock’n’roll retirement village.
