Ever since we placed Lady Gagas 'Born This Way' top of our most pretentious albums ever list, her little monsters have been on the warpath. Things got especially heated after Gaga herself took to Twitter to complain:
Oh the irony of winning "Most Pretentious Album Ever" from none other than NME. *eyeroll* I might laugh forever + then return to narcissism
Now, everyone knows Lady Gaga's fans are a dedicated and bellicose bunch. As Ailbhe Malone pointed out recently, they recently orchestrated a fan war against Madonna. Consequently, someone calling himself @kingofhopeless told me to expect the worst: "Monsterwar against @NMEmagazine is ON Are you guys fucking insane?"
Well, maybe. Here are a few of the most apoplectic responses we received.
Didn't know that grammy nominated albums were pretentious. NME don't mess with gaga. We will tear you limb from limb.
The song "Born This Way" alone is the most meaningful song ever, made for every living and loving person on earth. NME didn't get it...need I say more?
I hope I meet the writer of this, so I can piss on their face.
I've seen many people trying to get advantange of Gaga's fame, but you guys just manage to stoop so low it even disgusts me. I really hope you just find light in your life and focus on something interresting AND tru to talk about!
why wud NME be jealous for? masterpiece? u kidding right ha ha
