Oh Adele - we do love your way with words. Last night (March 8), the Tottenham-born singer and avid Grammy Award collector was on stage at the Manchester Arena and was offered an alcopop - a Smirnoff Ice, no less - by a member of the crowd. Graciously, she accepted. See the action shot from the crowd below.

Sadly, Adele did not knock back said Smirnoff Ice, but her response to the fan made up for it in terms of lolz. "I can't drink!" she exclaimed. "I'm not allowed to drink for a whole year because I've got to do a-fucking-hundred shows!" she said. Thankfully, the precious liquid didn't end up in the bin - we hope - as Adele promised to past the bottle on to her manager. "He'll have a right laugh with this," she cackled.

It's just as well that the incident didn't take place in North America, where Adele's snubbing of a being 'Iced' - which Urban Dictionary defines as "The act of drinking a Smirnoff Ice on one knee as fast as you can, following the presentation of the 'ice' in a clever manner" - would have resulted in her having to perform a forfeit, or at the very least brought upon herself a shame so deep that her next album would have likely been made up entirely of songs about that one night where she failed to chug a Smirny Ice in front of 11,000 people.
