There’s nothing that quite gets our pulses racing like a superhero fight sequence. The dizzy camera work, the crunching sound of bones cracking and of course, the amazing visual effects that bring it all to life - we bloody adore it all. So that’s why we’re so excited for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - and this brand new clip is doing nothing to discourage it.
In the new teaser, premiered on Jimmy Kimmel’s post-Oscars talk show on Sunday night, we get our first footage of Batman and Superman properly having it out. Superman, being the impossibly strong and fast alien he is, has Batman on the ropes after he punches him through a building, smashing Wayne’s Bat-Signal in the process. It all gets a bit dramatic as Supes, played by Henry Caville, warns The Dark Knight, "Stay down. If I wanted it, you'd be dead already." And from the clip, we’re certainly not going to bet against him.
Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman also both feature in a new skit from Jimmy Kimmel’s Post-Oscar talk show, alongside Jesse Eisenberg who plays Lex Luthor, Will Arnett (voice of Lego Batman in The Lego Movie) and Matt Damon – who is still kitted out in his gear from The Martian. Watch the full skit below.
Last week, Caville polled several children on who would win in a fight between Batman vs Superman, with a large percentage picking Batman to triumph over Superman - but clearly they haven’t seen this new clip yet.
