Dave Grohl's a bit of a legend. We all know that, it's why we made him Godlike Genius for this year's Shockwaves NME Awards. What we didn't know was that he's such a good host.

Check out this video tour of his home garage, where Foo Fighters recorded their most recent album. Grohl shows us the vintage tape machines they used to make the LP, what "Taylor's shitty drum fills" look like on discarded tape, and the Toys R Us drumkit he retooled to sound like Led Zep.

And in a section Grohl likens to MTV's Cribs, we rummage through his food supplies, which includes chicken noodle soup, spam and niblets (whatever they are) and his favourite beverage, Tejava.

The Foo Fighters headline the NME Awards Big Gig on Feb 25th, with Cee Lo Green, Band Of Horses and No Age. Get full details at NME.COM/awards.
