David Bowie: Ultimate Hero - Inside This Week's NME

Our cover star this week (on sale September 29) is an up and coming young musician called David Bowie. You probably should keep an eye on him, he could potentially be bigger than Darwin Deez.

What with credible pop music dominating the year, it seems Bowie is more influential than ever. Don't believe us? Well, we spoke to Lady Gaga, Brandon Flowers, Janelle Monae, and the fella from Everything Everything and they seem to agree.

Elsewhere in the issue, we've got more cred-pop fun with Robyn, and some solo brooding with Maximo Park's Paul Smith. We also speak to MGMT about the divisive response to 'Congratulations', and their desire to work with Jedward.

Plus there's an on the road special with Klaxons, The Drums' Jonathan Pierce reveals his bitterness at his guitarist quitting, White Lies invite us into their studio, and we get behind the campaign to save the 100 Club.

It's the best issue of NME since the May 23 1973, when Slade were on the cover aghast that Cup-a-soups hadn't been invented yet.
