"Solitary Brothaaarrrr! Is there still a part of you that wants to live? Solitary Sistarrrr! Is there still a part of you that wants to give?" 'Killer' by Adamski and Seal remains one of the greatest pop choruses of the 1990s, along with Babylon's Zoo 'Spaceman', White Town's 'Your Woman' and, erm, 'Bitch' by Meredith Brooks.

Enough nostalgia. 2:54, the Bristol sisters, have given us their exclusive cover to premiere. It replaces the unforgettably boingy bassline with a bass guitar, the 90s drum machine with live drums, and a Casio with the piano proper. Instead of Seal's croon, it's Colette and Hannah's breathy, pleading vocals. It works - and it's heaps better than Tiesto's 2010 remix.

I caught up with the sisters at their gig last night supporting The xx in London to find out why they're paying tribute to the 90s classic. 'Killer' is one of the songs they listen to driving back from shows. It was a song they grew up with and they play it when they're feeling keyed-up after a performance. It's all about "nostalgia and fun".

What's life like on the road? They described touring with their mates The xx as an "incredible dream". Pillows, music and films are a creature comfort. Colette's been "getting lost" in the new Swans album 'The Seer'. Hannah's into St Vincent. They start their full UK tour in November.

2:54 described 'Sugar', the new single from their eponymous debut out this month, as "germanic and industrial, the dance track of the album".

In the meantime, you can listen to 'Killer' below.
