"Pop music is reptile psychic vampirism"
In September last year, some unfortunate turn of events spurred Father John Misty to delete his Twitter and Instagram accounts. But yesterday (March 19) he reactivated his perma-hilarious Twitter feed ahead of the release of his third album ‘Pure Comedy’ on April 7. He spent most of the day responding to fans’ tweets, and not just a few – he answered hundreds of them. Many of his replies featured screams of worry about ‘this generation‘, but he also expressed surprising opinions on loads of people in the music world, including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Frank Ocean, The Beatles, and of course his old band Fleet Foxes – whose frontman Robin Pecknold once described his relationship with Josh Tillman as “fully deteriorated“. You can check it all out below – here’s what Father John Misty thinks of…
…the conspiracy theory where Taylor Swift is actually a clone of famed satanist Zeena LaVey
…pop, and Rihanna
…what Pitchfork will give his new album
…Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’
