Last Friday--the same day it was announced that Franz Ferdinand are performing at this year's Coachella alongside Paul McCartney--the Scots whizzed through my fair city, choosing to play their only public Los Angeles show during their album's release week at the Amoeba record store in Hollywood.
And there hadn't been such a wrapped-around-the-block queue for an Amoeba instore since Macca himself played there a couple years ago.
Sunset Boulevard was a total mess that evening--well, it always is at 7pm, but it was even worse on Friday due to the pileup of Franz fans searching at a snail's pace for non-existent parking spaces. Unsurprisingly, many people had to be turned away.
