Gang Of Four - Glass (rerecorded) - Free MP3

Since the first time I saw them administer a microwave beating in a dingy New Cross boozer circa 2004, I knew Gang Of Four were different to the usual platoon of semi-senior rock stars re-doing the rounds.

Gang Of Four

There was none of the dad-at-the-disco squeamishness of Buzzcocks doing 'Orgasm Addict' and not a whiff of the Johnny gone Rotten aged Pistols schtick. Instead their caustic post-punk sounded as sharp and relevant as it no doubt sounded way before I was born and it had the dignity of say David Byrne's recent shows as opposed to the odd spectacle of Devo in a baby suit.

It's 30 years since Gang Of Four released their seminal 'Entertainment' and to celebrate they're playing some gigs in September including a show at the Kentish Town Forum on the 26th. They've also re-recorded a track from the album, 'Glass', which sounds pretty far off the original. Thoughts please...
