There's been a flurry of Tweets today on the topic of good songs by bad bands.

Some have gone for pop guilty pleasure, like the wedding disco staple S Club 7’s ‘Don’t Stop Moving’ and the Clinton cards- wisdom of Ronan Keating’s ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’ (no need to worry, Deepak Chopra etc). The one I have to agree with is ‘When You’re Gone’ by Mel C And Bryan Adams. A soft rock anthem that wouldn't scare your grandmother, but it can't help but put a smile on your (well, my) face.

More controversially, users have been nominating the likes of The White Stripes ‘Seven Nation Army’, Queen’s ‘Somebody To Love’ and most shockingly for me, Elastica’s ‘Stutter’

Surely these are good songs by good bands?

What’s mine? Well quite strangely I think it has to be ‘Since U Been Gone’ by Kelly Clarkson. Apparently the axis of Swedish songwriting evil better known by the names 'Max Martin' and 'Dr Luke' penned the track whilst listening to The Strokes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But that doesn’t really matter because you can’t really fight power chords like these can you?

.

So what’s your good song by a bad band? Tell us below.
