Today is a special day, because today is the day Mono come to town, for a one-off gig at the Scala. The Japanese post-rockers are in the UK for a short stint to promote their Steve Albini-produced album ‘Hymn To The Immortal Wind’ (even though it came out a year ago). Hopefully they’ll play this too:
(Part Two is the LOUD bit)
Their most recent record saw a whole range of orchestration added to the quiet/loud noisemongery. This 12 minute epic is the opening track.
Mono play London’s Scala tonight, followed by a slot at The Asylum in Birmingham tomorrow and Leeds Brudenell Social Club on Thursday.
PS – If you like Japanese noise, this lot are back in the UK in May too.
