Remember Test Icicles? Course you do, NME wouldn't let anyone without their head in Camber Sands ignore them. We called them the new Beatles, the second coming, here to torch the rulebook with a highly charged lightning rod and stamp it out with neon Converse. I think I even gave their remix album 8/10. Anyway, we all know what happened next. Exhaustion, lavender bridges for Dev, oblivion for the rest. Well Rory resurfaced some time ago and is back in the fray with a debut album under the guise of Kasms.
To be fair, he's only a quarter of the self-styled "shriekbeat" brats, but his previous is evident all over their sound.
That messy, noisy, nasty splatter has been given a dark gothic heart by lead shamen Rachel Mary Callaghan's post-screamo yelps. Apparently she beats people up at shows. This is the next single 'Male Bonding' which comes out May 4th on Trouble Records and has been recorded live onto reel-to-reel by the band themselves in true DIY style. The album 'Spayed' is out May 11th. Go buy.
