Test how well you really know the Followills' arsenal
After a while in the MOR stadium hinterland, Kings Of Leon have remembered how to write massive tunes. Their seventh album ‘WALLS‘, released last week (October 14), is perfect proof of that, packed from start to finish with juggernaut hooks that will get stuck in your brain for days. It might not be a return to the sound of their first two records, but it’s certainly a return to form.
Of course, with a new album comes a fresh set of dates. While speculation about whether the Followills will play Glastonbury or not likely won’t be answered until next year, they’ve confirmed five chances to see them perform in early 2017. In February, the band will nip across to the UK from Nashville for a series of arena gigs, their first shows in the country since 2014 (save their super intimate last minute London show last night, of course).
Any KOL fan worth their salt would probably lay claim to being able to recite all the band’s lyrics, from early tracks like ‘California Waiting’ to their most recent batch of tracks. But just how well do you really know Caleb Followill’s wordsmithery? We’ve got the ultimate test right here that will sort the true obsessives from the pretenders – our very tough lyrics quiz. Don’t worry if you don’t do as well you think you should – you’ve got plenty of time to revise before the group return to these shores. Get comfortable, get your brain in gear and do your best. Remember – don’t cheat and do share your results with your mates. Who knows, you might be able to claim bragging rights if you do well!
Kings Of Leon will play:
Birmingham, Genting Arena (February 20)
Newcastle, Metro Radio Arena (February 24)
Liverpool, Echo Arena (February 25)
Glasgow, The SSE Hydro (February 27)
