Baltimore may not be known for its hardcore – nearby DC takes care of that while people like Dan Deacon & The Wham City collective and more recently Beach House act as the city’s musical ambassadors – but Double Dagger have been doing their bit to bring the noise to the city for several years now. A bit Japandroids, a bit Lightning Bolt, a bit whatever you fancy, they’re a guitarless three-piece that includes two graphic designers, so releases like forthcomig EP ‘Masks’ come in suitably DIY packaging. ‘Pillow Talk’ would scare the shit out of your loved one after lights out, which is why we love it. On a sleepier (but no less majestic) note, Leicestershire’s electronic shoegazers Kyte are gearing up for the release of their debut album ‘Dead Waves’ on April 19th and sent us this mini-epic as an early taster.
