Liam G Answers Your Questions - Inside This Week's NME (Nov 12)

It’s been all Noel, Noel, Noel everywhere you look recently, but look! Little bro is back and he’s got a UK tour, but before that there’s a fistful of questions from you lot, the fans, to contend with. Just before a show in Amsterdam, surrounded and helped out by his bandmates, he will tackle the gigantic array of topics that are thrown up, from Henry The Hoover to how he plans to protect Pretty Green stores from future riots, why Twitter is “for dicks”, the future of Beady Eye and, of course, the future of that other band he used to be in with his brother. It’s all as brilliant and entertaining as you might expect, and worth the cover price alone, quite frankly.

Which isn’t to say that there isn’t loads of other brilliant stuff, far from it. There’s also an amazing interview with Azealia Banks, the hottest new singer on the planet, who it turns out has got almost as much to say about herself and everything else (especially former label XL), as the guy who adorns this week’s cover. She’s a star, no question, and not afraid to stick the boot in to anyone who might dare to cross her path. Turns out there have been a few of these already.

And at the other end of the spectrum, but also with lots to say, we’ve got a great piece on Veronica Falls, who talk about all their influences, from Roky Erickson to early REM, to C86. They have some harsh words for some of the other bands with whom they’re unfairly lumped into a revivalist scene with, too…

Oh yeah, and we’ve got all the details of the best tour of next year, which is of course… our tour! Taking place in January, and featuring Two Door Cinema Club, Metronomy, Tribes and Azealia Banks, it’s going to be one of the best ever, if the boasts of the four acts on it are to be belived. Which they are.

Plus, in a gigantic week for live music, we’ve got reviews of Noel G’s first solo tour, Damon’s new venture, Arctic Monkeys' arena dates and an on tour piece with the Maccabees.
