'Bowie Knives' by Mazes is the kind of song that reminds you how amazing it was to be a kid. It floats on melancholy air and bristles with awesome youth. Main man Jack Cooper explains, “When I was a little kid my Granddad and I used to spend a lot of time together and he'd teach me to build dens and throw knives...stuff like that.”

“Anyway, when he died he left me his collection/arsenal of hunting knives and because of an incident I had in my youth, my parents thought it best I didn't have them.” He laughs. “So they handed them in to the police. Yeah, that's what it's about... my family's lack of faith in my temper.”
