Farewell, then, Jet. The Aussie retro-rockers have split up after 11 years. It would be easy to sneer - they hadn't exactly troubled most people's iTunes libraries in recent years - but anyone who swerved unsteadily round an indie club dancefloor in about 2003 will have fond, if somewhat booze-blurred, memories of 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl?' and the like.
Must admit, though, I'd forgotten just what a great rock vocalist Nic Cester was. So thanks to Stacey Killon (@beady_stace), who just tweeted me this footage of Muse covering AC/DC's 'Back In Black' with Cester on vocals, at Australia's Big Day Out in 2010. I'd never seen it before, but it's a nice little supergroup moment. As well as showcasing Cester's potent rasp, it also finds Matt Bellamy getting stuck into an uncharacteristically simplistic riff.
