It’s been a couple of years since Lone’s ‘Galaxy Garden’, an album that redefined acid-spiked rave for the 2010s. For that album, Lone (real name Matt Cutler) drew inspiration from his own discography (he started writing music at 10) instead of the Detroit and Chicago house and techno that influenced his early work. With new track ‘Airglow Fires’ you sense he’s doing more of his own thing. Though it has the epic synth chords, hi-hats and eventual break, this is one dance odyssey that sounds very Lone. It’s a honkin’, funkin’ marvel and just you wait for the drop.
