NME Awards Tour – Hear All The Bands

The acts for the NME Awards Tour 2011 have been announced: Crystal Castles, Magnetic Man, Everything Everything and The Vaccines.

It’s a line-up we’re proud of, and it’s got people excited, if the reaction on Twitter is anything to go by. Tickets are on sale here from 9am Wednesday 10 November.

The four acts will hit the road on February 3 and tour the UK until February 19, when they play London’s O2 Academy Brixton. Just in case you’re not familiar with all the acts on the bill, here’s a beginner’s guide…

Crystal Castles
One of the most exciting live acts on the planet, thanks to the confrontational, can’t-tear-your-eyes-away antics of Alice Glass. Their second album, released earlier this year, proves they’re just as capable of subtle ambience as screaming digi-punk extremity.

Magnetic Man
Dubstep’s first super-group, dragging the genre into the mainstream with radio-hogging tracks such as ‘I Need Air’. Their gigs look like this:

Everything Everything
Manchester-based art-rockers who are responsible for the most idea-packed debut of the year. We’ve been banging on about this lot for ages, so we couldn’t be happier they’re doing our tour.

The Vaccines
They craft short, sharp bursts of impossibly joyous guitar pop – it’s no wonder this London band are one of the most talked-about new acts of the year.
