Yesterday (February 1) Pep Guardiola was named manager of Manchester City Football Club, starting in the 2016-2017 season and carrying on for the next three years. The 45-year-old Spanish coach will have been the manager of Bayern Munich for three years, where in his first season the club won Germany’s top league, the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal (Germany’s FA Cup equivalent), the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
MCFC is the club beloved by Oasis‘ Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, and naturally they were overjoyed by the news that Pep, commonly regarded as one of the best managers in the world, will be replacing 62-year-old Manuel Pellegrini – even though Pellegrini led the club to the top spot in the 2013-14 Premier League. It’s expected that when Pep joins, he’ll take the club to greater heights, and as such Liam has nicknamed him Sergeant Pep. Noel says he wants to lick his face. Anything goes, apparently.
