Day Two: May 14, Liverpool Academy
I Woke up in Glasgow feeling a little better than the other day – slept in the van as it rocked and bobbed along the M74. Thoough at one point we stopped off in Penrith to eat at this place we found years ago when we were doing our early tours.
After we’d eaten the manager asked if we minded having our photo’s taken with the chef’s – we said ‘hell no!’ Bewicks of Penrith. I couldn’t stop talking about Cranston the butcher – everyone in the van tried desperately to shut me up. The things we do out of boredom.
When we eventually arrived in Liverpool, we were ushered into a magazine shoot. then before the gig I had to write a letter to my new god-daughter, Kerri, to be read out at her christening tomorrow, which I will be missing.
The gig was the best yet. People went ballistic for us. Afterwards me, Chris (backline) and Matty (backline and bass guitarist) went out to Chibuku with some friends to see Simian Mobile Disco – when we came out of the club, the sun was shining. Oops! At least there’s a 6 hour van journey to look forward to!
