Let's face it, breakfast is probably the least rock 'n' roll meal of the day. Maybe it's something to do with the fact any rock star worth his salt isn't likely to wake up before lunch - and even then, their first meal of the day is more likely to be two aspirins and Bloody Mary. That didn't stop New York artist Sarah Rosado creating these awesome cereal portraits of musicians from Jimi Hendrix to Amy Winehouse, though.
"Right now, The Family Rain sound like a band whose confidence is swelling," writes Kevin EG Perry in this week's NME, praising the Bath trio's "ripped, pumped-up riffs" and Oasis-like swagger on new EP 'Hunger Sauce'. Most bands would rest on their laurels having just released a widely applauded debut album ('Under The Volcano'). Not William, Ollie and Timothy Walter who, five months after that debut LP, release this new seven song collection next Monday (July 28).
Let’s get real: you still remember all the words to 'Fat'. You know exactly how many inches Frank’s TV is. And, despite knowing there’s an element of political incorrectness to 'Amish Paradise,' you can rap along to it better than you can to the Coolio original.
Up until this point there have been two oft-quoted supposedly interesting things about Sia. First, her facelessness and atypical shunning of the limelight. When she has appeared in public this year it's been with a bag over her head, face-painted or with her back to the audience (it was written into her RCA contract that she doesn't have to tour or talk to press to promote the album and you can read her anti-fame manifesto here).
Thanks to Brain Pickings for posting the isolated vocal for David Bowie's 'Ziggy Stardust'. It'll give you goosebumps...
