Following a semi-complete clear out of the inbox there’s 13 remixes for your weekend listening. Some highlights:
Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor has worked his magic on Beta Band man Steve Mason‘s single ‘Am I Just A Man’, which is taken from the album ‘Boys Outside’, out now on Double Six. (Visit Steve Mason’s site here and watch him having a go at Damon Albarn in our Glasto interview here).
Get Cape Wear Cape Fly has a new single featuring Shy FX out on August 9th through Cooking Vinyl (details on his website) which comes with a cover of Justice’s ‘D.A.N.C.E.’, which should be interesting. Dubstep man Jakwob does his thing here.
Bear In Heaven‘s remix album ‘Beast Rest Forth Mouth’ is edging ever closer, hitting the shops on August 23rd via Hometapes / Dreamboat records and the band are booked in for a UK tour starting at London’s Cargo on August 21st. Visit their site for more. The Justin K Broadwick mix we’ve got here is pretty epic.
Mr Fogg you’ve met before, when we put out the Jakwob remix of ‘Moving Parts’. The folktronic genius is back with ‘Stung’, remixed here by Ital Tek
Sia recently released new single ‘Clap Your Hands’ – Doorly’s done the honours on this one. (MySpace here).
The Count & Sinden are about to release this tune with The Mystery Jets (August 16th). CRST provide today’s mix.
Twizzle‘s ‘Skydiving’ has been a massive tune over the last six months (not least at Greenmoney’s Glastonbury set in the council flat-cum-rave at Block 9). Now he’s back with ‘LDN Sign’, released September 6th, featuring this Psychemagic remix.
I’ve been chasing something from Teeth for a while now, and while they’re polishing up demos they sent over a complete reworking of their signature track ‘See Spaces’. Check their MySpace here.
Last time we posted a Civil Civic track someone commented that it ripped their head off. So it’s no surprise their remix of Turzi’s ‘Baltimore’ (featuring Bobby Gillespie and out now) is pretty hectic.
Plus, the Salem mix of These New Puritans that surfaced this week (and sounds like, you know, a Salem tune), a lovely Raveonettes version of The Drums‘ ‘Let’s Go Surfing’, the return of David E. Sugar and a TBD mix of Shit Robot‘s ‘I Found Love’.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think of the tracks…
PS – Dan The Automator has remixed the classic A Team theme tune too which, while can’t be downloaded, is worth a listen – especially as the movie itself favours Tom Morello instrumentals over the classic track.
Twentieth Century Fox releases THE A-TEAM in UK cinemas on Wednesday 28 July.
