Last month, Glastonbury organisers announced there will be no World Cup matches screened at the festival this year. “In previous years, we have endeavoured to show England’s matches on big screens where possible,” a statement on their website read. “However, with potential England matches clashing with the headline sets at this year’s festival, the decision has been made that – should England qualify from their group – their last 16 match will not be shown at Glastonbury 2014.” Speaking to NME this week, Kasabian backed the move – despite being massive football fans themselves. “It’s a place for psychedelia,” stressed instrumentalist Serge Pizzorno.
