Still Going are a DFA duo that make awesome digital disco within a relatively well-travelled furrow. They’ve also inspired both Resident Advisor and Pitchfork to use the phrase “cognitive dissonance” within reviews. In fact, Pitchfork makes the astute point in their review of Spaghetti Circus that all this disco revival stuff doesn’t really push any boundaries, and yet the tracks are so arresting that to dwell on that seems wrong and irrelevant.
Theoretical waffling aside, you could spoon-feed me strung-out balaeric “grooves” til I was barfing beats and I’d still lap it up.
Oh and that’s comedian Reggie Watts on vocals…

The Four Tet remix of Anti-pop Consortium’s new single ‘Volcano’ is a masterpiece of spectral bleeps and crackled hip-hop and available on several blogs including blahblahscience. It seems Kieran Hebden is incapable of making a shit tune.
