Stormzy’s In Japan For His Fiery New Freestyle Video, But He’s Sniping At The Brits – Watch

Croydon’s favourite son Stormzy is back, and this time, he’s gone global – popping up in a new YouTube video repping in, of all places, Tokyo, Japan.

Entitled ‘One Take Freestyle’, the track takes its Rudekid-produced instrumental from fellow MC Ghetts’ November freestyle of the same name – where, funnily enough, he challenged a detractor to “go visit Japan” if he wants to “fight with your fist and feet“.

And so, Stormzy did just that, flying half way around the world to film the video for this typically-stunning freestyle. It seems that very few targets are safe from Stormzy’s lyrical samurai sword: he dismisses death threats (“So many death threats / So tell me / How comes I ain’t dead yet?“), namedrops Czech footballer Pavel Nedvěd (“an old school legend“), and shakes his head over the absence of grime from the BRIT Award nominations (“Are you taking the piss? / Embarrassing“).

Special mention should also go out to the hotel bathrobe which he dons the beginning of the clip – after all, grime is all about wearing white, fluffy robes at present.
